Can the search results be manipulated so that certain document are always at the top of the list?
Yes it is possible. The KeyMatch feature in Google Mini enables a user to promote certain files, which will then appear always at the apex of the search result list. This is done, by associating one or more keywords with the file. As soon as these keywords are typed, the particular file is displayed first among the search list.
What are the type of reports displayed by Google Mini?
There are a number of reporting options available in Google Mini. And the ones that are frequently required can be accessed from the intuitive web-based Admin console. You can get a report on the 100 most common queries, which will help you to find out what your users are looking for. It can also tell you the number of pages that are showing error when crawled. This might be a result of HTML that is poorly formatted.
How are duplicate results prevented form being displayed?
Google Mini includes a Do Not Crawl list in the Admin Console. If files diversions or their duplicates are specified under this list they are not indexed. Indication of duplicate hosts to avoid recrawling of files is possible.
How does the Spell check suggest spellings? And can this dictionary be edited?
With the help of the content in the index, a particular algorithm in the appliance, creates different spelling uggestions. These also includes proper names e.g. names of client, employees etc. However the system being fully automated cannot be edited. For any alternate searches, one can add synonyms to the Configure serving tab.
Does Google Mini have a search API?
At the moment a search API is not included in Google Mini. The search results are however returned in XML format. Thus you can integrate the results in to custom applications or content management systems. You can also see the Search Protocol document.
Does Google Mini also support categorization?
Google functions on searches. On the other hand, Google Mini works with information that is categorized. These information categories are created in two ways. It is based on either meta-tags in the HTML source or the defining of collections using Admin Console.
Is it possible for me to know what my users are viewing on my website?
Yes it is possible. You can get a 50,000 foot view of the content seen by your users on your particular website. And it is also reflected in the 100 search results. You get every minute details of any entry made by a user. Based on this info you can include all those products in your websites, which the users demand. Can certain files in Google Mini be excluded from crawling?
