Protocol used by Google talk: The Google talk support an open process which known as federation which is based on an industry standard protocol called XMPP protocol this will also includes earth-link, gizmo project, tiscali, netease, chikka and mediaring this will also includes some of the thousands of other service provides, universities, and other individual users.
The service provides need not to support server-to-server XMPP protocol; this is also true for Google talk users as well. With this functionality will enable Google talk versatile chat software.
Now days Google is now planning to support other communication protocols for example SIP protocol that is an industry standard interoperable communication protocol.
One of the good things about this XMPP service is that it refers to commercial open source jabber server like jabbered and it uses a dial back authentication process for recognition of user.
