First things is that the username that you will choose will remain unaltered. The same will appear in your Orkut profile and on Google Talk friend’s list also. However, in Google talk you can create display name for your friends, but that will not appear in your Orkut profile. To have a good display name in Google Talk, first sign in with your username and password. Then from settings, choose account-setting option, under general settings. Just right click on the name and type what you want.

To receive Orkut notification first you have to enable Google Talk – Orkut integration.
