Picasa is a software application used for organizing and editing digital photos. Picasa originally created by Idealab. It is now owned by Google. Google began to offer Picasa free from July 2004. Picasa downloads easily available on internet. Picasa supported by all operating system which includes Microsoft Windows (XP, 2000, 2003 Server) and Linux. Picasa provides extra plugin to upload photos which are available for Mac OS X 10.4.

To apply changes while using other program, you have to export the photo. Picasa2 allows users to save changes made to pictures in Picasa, while overwriting the actual picture file. A backup version of the real picture is made, which is saved in a hidden named called as “Originals”. It is located in the same folder as the original picture.
